Manchester and District Institute of Iyengar Yoga
134 King Street, Dukinfield, SK16 4LG

Event Type

Debbie hardly needs an introduction to most of our members; a Level 3 teacher, Debbie has been teaching Iyengar Yoga for over 25 years and now teaches full time after working for 24 years in the building trade as a builders’ merchant, teaching at MDIY and across Yorkshire and Lancashire.  Debbie teaches all levels, from beginners to teachers, but particularly enjoys teaching beginners as they have so much enthusiasm. She has been taught by both BKS Iyengar and Geeta Iyengar.

As well as the value of her own personal experiences with yoga, Debbie brings enormous enthusiasm and warmth, and is an extremely popular teacher – we recommend booking early!

What Do I Need To Do Before Class?

  • PLEASE DO NOT COME TO CLASS IF YOU HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS OR FEEL UNWELL. We have decided against any more intrusive measures, such as a health check before class or taking students’ temperature, but this relies on our students and teachers to be honest if they are feeling unwell
  • Face masks are optional
  • Please do not turn up without having booked in advance
  • There is plenty of hand sanitiser as well as hand basins around MDIY please wash your hands.

What Do I Need To Do On Arrival?

  • Please arrive as ready for class as possible; remove shoes/outer clothing in the changing room/corridor, and go into the hall as quickly as possible, so the next student can come in the changing areas.
  • You can use our equipment; we have a prop cupboard at the back right side of the hall, our volunteers will show you where.

What Will Happen During Class?

  • To ensure ventilation, the door to the hall will be left open and when possible (given weather conditions!) windows will be open. If you want windows to be closed/opened, please ask the teacher rather than do this yourself.
  • If you use the toilet, please use the wipes provided to clean anything you have touched and wash or sanitise your hands.

What Will Happen After Class?

  • You are welcome to stay for a drink!
