A very special weekend with Jawahar Bangera! Usually we would be celebrating the anniversary of Guruji’s birth, 14th December, over this weekend; as it is impossible for us to be together in person, we are thrilled that Jawahar has agreed to teach us online, so we can be together virtually.
Jawahar Bangera has been BKS Iyengar’s pupil since 1969, and was one of the first pupils from Mumbai tasked by Guruji to teach yoga. Jawahar has accompanied Guruji on countless teaching tours around the world and has conducted a large number of yoga workshops himself in various countries.
He is a very experienced senior teacher, leading classes all over the world and at home in Mumbai where he is a director of the Iyengar Institute Yogashraya which was inaugurated by BKS Iyengar in 2002. Jawahar is also a trustee and driving force behind the Light on Yoga Research Trust (LOYRT), formed more than 35 years ago to promote the learning and practice of Yoga in the Iyengar method, including the publication of RIMIYI journal Yoga Rahasya.
His years of dedicated practice and study have helped make him a teacher who inspires us to move deeper into our understanding of Iyengar yoga.
The sessions will be suitable for all practitioners of Iyengar yoga.
9am-12pm UK time, Friday 11th, Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th December
Members cost: £25 per session
Non Members: £30 per session
If you book in advance, we will send out Zoom link the day before the session, with joining information.

The sessions will be recorded for those who book as normal and will be available for 30 days.
To book:
- You do not need to be a member of MDIY to attend, but you do need to be logged in to book. If you are not a member, please create a (free) basic account to log in
- Online payment is via PayPal, but you do not need a PayPal account – choose the “Guest User” option on the payment page to pay with your debit or credit card
- To book more than one class – choose your first class and you will be re-directed to your shopping cart. Instead of clicking “Book Now, go back to “Upcoming Events” and choose another class, repeat until your cart contains all your classes – then click “Book Now”. You can return to your cart at any time by clicking on the “Event bookings cart” (bottom right of screen)

Booking and cancellation policy: MDIY members will take priority over non-members. MDIY will refund the cost of tickets (less a £5 administration charge) if notice of cancellation is received more than 7 days before the event. Cancellations received less than 7 days before the event will not be refunded.
